The most important of the unrevealed secrets in the Naruto series is related to the father of Naruto. The identity of his father is not yet revealed. There are many people believing that Yondaime, the Fourth Hokage is Naruto's father. The striking resemblance between the two is stated as the reason for this belief. The fact that Naruto is an orphan and the forth Hokage died in his combat with Kyuubi all made this worth believing.

Certain people even think that Yondaime somehow survived and after that, he became the leader of Akatsuki group. They think that the entire thing is just a plot created by the forth Hokage. These people also consider Yondaime as a bad man.

The disbelievers of this theory ask how a person can seal something like Kyuubi in his own son. They also think that the Forth Hokage may be a relative of Naruto but certainly not his father.

Another reason put forward by the people who do not believe this is Naruto's name. His name is Uzumaki Naruto and should be Namikaze Naruto if he is Yondaime son. The believers of this theory think that Naruto might have got the surname of his mother and not his father's. They think that Yondaime might have thought that the villagers will treat him well for having the monster inside him. However, the secret remains unrevealed and the topic is getting hotter with the growing popularity of Naruto series.
